Wills-Lifestyle-India-Fashion-Week-2012-day 3

Day 3 of the fashion week had some veteran designers showcasing their collection. On the list was Bollywood’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra apart from Kallol Datta, Abraham & Thakore and Pankaj & Nidhi.

Kallol Datta’s collection was an all black collection with interesting use of fabrics in shades of slate grey and charcoal blacks while Pankaj and Nidhi’s collection added an outburst of colours to the ramp. Their collection comprised of fitted dresses in quirky colours blended with traditional Indian weaves such as ikat prints along with kashmiri thread work.

Manish’s collection displayed use of Kashmiri Crafts, Zari Work and threadwork on lovely Indian silhouettes. The breathtaking anarkali suits and long jackets clubbed with skirts underneath were mostly in white with hints of bright colours such as hot pink, orange, mint green balanced with the toned  down metallic blouses.

The use of chikan – kari and lace on the pallazo pants added a Kashmiri touch to the collection.

This collection is apt for picking up your Mehendi outfit! Stay tuned for day 4 & 5 of WLIFW right here on Marry Me’s Indian wedding blog.
