Lavish Romance and Luxury at Atlantis, The Palm Dubai

Planning a Indian wedding in Dubai

If you want to go for international honeymoon that is close enough to home and yet a sophisticated oasis with everything you could ask for… Dubai is tough to beat! One of the most visited and talked about cities in the Middle East, Dubai is just a few hours by flight from cities like Delhi and Mumbai (on average direct flights are around or under 4 hours) and that’s not all that makes it a great destination for a honeymoon or romantic holiday.

Dubai makes for a great kind of holiday for all kinds of travellers, even for honeymooners who are looking for destinations that provide tons of things to do when you are going to be just a cosy twosome. There’s beaches and water-sports, insane shopping and shopping festivals, spice and gold markets, camping, a very varied and vibrant night-life, cultural and wildlife activities, tons of great restaurants and a super choice of hotels. And like we mentioned earlier it is in close proximity to India so you won’t be breaking the bank on just air tickets. All in all an exciting and colourful place to begin your new life together!

We recently had the immense pleasure of staying at and exploring the magnificent Atlantis, the Palm Hotel in Dubai. We talked about how it makes for an impressive international destination wedding option, you can read here – about planning a destination wedding at Atlantis. but we also found it is an amazing option for a incredibly luxe honeymoon. The aquatic themed entertainment resort offers lots of different packages and is a world unto itself… pretty ideal for newlyweds who want lots to do and yet be pampered in intimate luxury! In fact the Atlantis, which opened in 2008, has been counted among the best honeymoon destinations internationally. And we concur; it was absolutely fabulous!

Something couples can enjoy and we were also treated to was a luxury two-way airport transfer both ways. You are whisked away to the hotel and can avail of a VIP check-in at the breathtaking Royal Majlis if you are staying at one of the suites.

Butlers served us teas and Arabic coffee while we waited and it was a great start to the trip. Something we wish we had tried – You can also choose to arrive or depart by helicopter; talk about a royal entry and exit!

Now every great honeymoon option has to have great rooms and accommodation don’t you think?! And the Atlantis definitely brings it in this regard. We took a tour around the rooms and suites the property offers and the Deluxe Guest Rooms, Club Suites and Signature Suites cover a range of different amenities and views so you have a lot to choose from… but wow, we thought they were all pretty outstanding in terms of comfort and luxury.

The Signature Suites are the most exclusive and grand and a favourite among royalty and celebrities. The privacy, generous layout and spaces, butler service and more, make them apt for an exclusive getaway for two.

Of all the suites, our favourite and the most unique was the stunning Underwater Suite. It makes for a distinctly different and novel stay. Imagine waking up to floor to ceiling windows to the underwater Ambassador Lagoon… beautiful water, thousands of marine life swimming by with views of ancient ruins of a mythical city. It was surreal, in the most splendid way!

The ensuite bathroom too is super luxurious and comes with fabulous underwater views and is so restful and restorative. The Underwater Suite has its own lavish lounge which is perfect to relax at in-between all the exploring.

And of course the suites have top notch amenities like products from luxury Austrian brand La Ric, private butlers, access to the Imperial Club Lounge, complimentary cocktails and beverages, high tea and more. And of course, super views abound!

What we really enjoyed about the Atlantis was that it is a destination in itself, steeped in the finest luxury of course. It makes for such a fun choice for a honeymoon because there was so much to do and see, even if you are going for just a few days like we did. It is called an entertainment resort for a reason! Firstly you have access to a beautiful and big private beach; the Nasimi beach was lovely in the evening for the gorgeous sunsets, the shisha, lounge and music.

It is also a popular spot for parties. Another hot spot is the Imperial Club beach. You can also go for boat cruises or learn snorkelling and scuba diving at the Atlantis! There are also two gorgeous swimming pools, as well as three tennis courts.

The resort has its own shopping center that has high end names like Patchi and Bateel as well as souvenir shops for those last minute gifts.

As far as entertainment goes, the best part is that Atlantis, the Palm Dubai has its very own waterpark and aquarium! Splash around with your honey at Aquaventure and definitely explore the amazing Lost Chambers Aquarium, which houses over 65000 marine animals and scenic ruins.

We also got to go behind the scenes at the aquarium and check out the fish hospital. The aquarium has shows, snorkelling and diving sessions as well. Such a must-do for water-babies!

There is also the beautiful Dolphin Bay and Sea Lion Point. That’s a lot of excitement and you and your spouse can recover at the luxurious ShuQi Spa and try one of their spa specials like we did.

All that holidaying and exploring means you need to fuel up and there are a multitude of restaurants , bars, cafes and lounges including indoor and outdoor dining to indulge at. There was a super variety of cuisines to sample and we visited a few as well. To name a few, we tried an excellent Mexican themed dinner at Kaleidoscope, indulged at Gordon Ramsey’s extremely popular Bread Street Kitchen and tucked into scrumptious Lebanese food at Ayamna.

Another must-visit was Ossiano, an award winning underwater restaurant which was named Time Out Dubai’s seafood restaurant of the year right from 2013 to 2016.

Honeymoons call for an extra dash of romance, so try out the private dining which can be set up on the beach! From scrumptious food to aquatic adventures, sun-kissed beaches to cozy corners, the Atlantis had it all and surrounded us with grandeur and style. Definitely a deluxe honeymoon destination!
