Etro the Italian luxury brand has launched a stunning range of menswear Spring Summer 2013. The collection is titled ‘Paisley’ and is inspired by the Indian epic- Mahabharata. The fabrics used are rich in lovely hues and have strong Indian influences. The collection is a perfect blend of modern designs combined with traditional styles. The range is very wearable and light weight with the signature ‘Paisley’ print in soft shades. The texture is quite interesting and kind of like a pencil sketch. The hand crafted embroidery detailing is beautiful and the colour palette ranges from deep purple and royal blues to brilliant whites and greys and denser shades like burnt orange or rich maroon.
Do check out their collection as the jackets are very appealing especially for a sangeet function. You can pair it with loose trousers and comfortable shirts with metal buttons engraved with paisley pattern.
Another revered designer Jean Paul Gaultier showcased his Summer/Spring 2013 collection for men, and guess what?? His collection had Indian influences too! The designs were inspired by Indian landscape and had resemblance to the garments worn by sailors on the shores of India back in time in. His range is in bold colours with richly printed elements and fishing motifs and minute bead work. The prints are mainly pinstripe and discretely vanish into plain colours representing the rhythmic movements of the ocean with delicately embroidered tatoos. You can see lot of latest techniques used in the design such as layering and asymmetrical cuts. On the whole, the collection is unique and you can surely something for your trousseau.
We also loved the Sicilian inspired Dolce and Gabbana Summer/Spring 2013 collection showcased at the Milan Men’s Fashion Week recently. The collection was in warm summery hues with the core palette being yellow, orange and peach. The collection was interesting and had something for the Indian groom. We loved the Sicilian inspired jacket which had some Indian elements on it like the sun god. Also the colours were very bright and funky and perfect for an Indian mehendi.
Grooms-to-be, do check this collection out and get inspired!
