Runway Inspired Looks for the Fashionable Indian Bride

Indian fashion weeks have always showcased the best trends; be it designs, colours, accessories or craftsmanship. Every designer raises the benchmark with newer concepts and unimaginably fresh ideas. We love the way simple inexpensive accessories are used to glam up the look of the outfit. Indian brides wait patiently for the fashion weeks to decide which designer they will pick for their big day! Here are some of our picks from the runway, which we absolutely adore.

Neeta Lulla interestingly used payals as mang tikas at one of her show. The look was very traditional and pretty, and we liked the way she used a garland of Indian flowers to complete the look. We recommend this look for a traditional sangeet or any of your pre-wedding functions. Moreover you can experiment with different styles of payals and create variations of the look to suit your face cut.

For all those Indian brides who think nose rings are so old fashioned and outdated, here is a very interesting way to incorporate it in your look. We came across this fun nose ring at one of Payal Singhals show. The pretty floral nose ring is perfect for a mehendi party.

Traditional yet fashionable; we love this kind of a balanced look showcased by Pankaj and Nidhi.  This is perfect balance between the conventional and contemporary with grace. A statement making neck piece has been used as a mang tika which draws the attention and even though the neck is bare, it does not really take away anything.

Simple yet glam; we like the way these glitter bands are wound around the up do to add an oomph factor to the look. We spotted this at Krishna Mehtas show and we think this can go well for a reception or a sangeet.

Ever thought of carrying a stylish batwa instead of a clutch at a party?? Anita Dongre turned this very simple accessory into a fashionable must have! We love the way she paired these traditional batwas with her ornate lehengas. Perfect for you to carry your gloss and some compact for your mehendi party.

It can’t get better than this; pairing Indian oxidized jewelry with Western outfit. The Chanel pre-fall 2012 fashion week showcased some stunning pieces of oxidized jewelry donned on stylish fusion outfits. You can take inspiration from this for a sundown cocktail party!

Pom Pom Mang Tika – This is for the bold and off beat bride; fun, quirky and unique piece of arty jewelry.. We love the use of pop poms as mang tikas….so unique so kitsch! We spotted this at one of Payal Singhals show and instantly fell in love with the idea.
