Romantic French Getaway!

French Riviera

The French Riviera is a beautiful Mediterranean coastline on the southeast of France. It has been popular among the famous for more than a century. Initially, celebrities, royalty, artists, writers,  politicians were attracted by its gorgeous, light and pleasant weather and access to both beaches and mountains but over the years the place has been transformed into a world of luxury beaches, perfumeries, casinos, mansions and yachts. The French call this rich coastline the Côte d’Azur, where you’ll enjoy both the Mediterranean shoreline and the French Alps. The spectacular landscape, golden sunshine, clear blue waters, and pastel-coloured bistros and hotels make it the perfect place for a  South of France romantic getaway.

When to go ?

The weather in the French Riviera is pleasant and sunny all around the year. December to February are the coldest months, with an average of 13 degrees during the day. May to August are the busiest months for tourists, however to avoid peak season its better to skip the month of May as the International Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix are usually on.

Why to go ?

The French Riviera has some of the most beautiful cities ever. Unquestionably romantic, a French Riviera honeymoon can mean Cannes, Nice, St.Tropez, Monaco or Cassis.

Cannes in France

Cannes : Cannes is most popular for its International Film Festival. Each May the population of this glamorous city swells with a swarm of celebrities and paparazzi. As a honeymoon destination, Cannes has a lot of romantic places to explore. Be sure to take a stroll along La Croisette, it’s a stylish promenade that runs along the seashore where you’ll find designer boutiques during the day and art entertainment by night. There are many historical structures worth visiting in Cannes. An incredible view of the city can be enjoyed while taking a boat ride to St Honorat and Ste Marquerite. You can opt for a luxurious stay in one of Cannes’ grand hotels to experience the high standard of living of the French.

Nice:  Nice is the largest city in the French Riviera. This sophisticated city has the Promenade des Anglais which is a popular beaschside walkway that gently curves along the coast. To the south of this promenade are pebbly white beaches with blue umbrellas, perfect for taking a dip in the Mediterranean. To the north is an exciting city with rich hotels, lush flowers, parks, scenic fountains, palm trees, gardens and ponds. Stroll through Nice, admiring the ornate buildings with its red-tiled roofs and glowing walls in warm hues of yellow and orange. Browse through tiny boutiques cluttered with floral fabric or stroll through the marketplace and fill your baskets with beautiful local produce like melons, raspberries and olives. Grab some local wine and cheese and you’re all set for a romantic picnic for two!

Cafe's in France

Cassis: The intimate town of Cassis is a short drive from Marseilles. It’s a quiet little town that offers the most romantic environment for a French Riviera honeymoon. Colorful sidewalk cafes, restaurants lining the harbour, watching the sunset and floating boats make it a relaxing and romantic experience. The tiny hotels decorated in warm shades of yellow and orange give you a feeling of privacy and seclusion. The private white sand beaches are perfect for sun lovers with their gleaming blue waters. Hop onto a boat from the port of Cassis for a ride along the scenic inlets of the ocean.

St Tropez: This town is famous for its wealthy and elite vistors during the summer. The nightlife is extravagant and the coasts are lined with posh yatchs in this Riviera town. A must for a honeymoon couple is relaxing in a sidewalk café or bistro while watching the street life. Hang out at the beach for a day and you are sure to spot a celebrity or two!

We think the best way to explore the French Riviera while on your honeymoon is from behind the wheel, roaming about on your own, just relaxing and enjoying the rich lifestyle, food, wine and beaches. You’re sure to have the most memorable time of your life!
