So since we just did a post on personalizing your wedding clutch, we thought we should put out some of the nicest clutches this season! Malini Agarwalla, of Malaga has recently unveiled her Bridal Collection.
We love that she takes us on a journey of a bygone era – transported from the bohemian spirit of today to the lilting romance of the Vintage Mughal dynasty. Ancient techniques and designs from the rich cultural heritage of the Mughal era together with the use of precious stones like rubies and emeralds create a Malaga unique piece. Each bag is a piece of jewellery to be treasured as an heirloom and reveled in by several generations. The bags are carefully handcrafted with a variety of hand-cut and Swarovski crystals, in a range of colors.
“Handbags are today huge style statements along with being something that we essentially require each day. Ideally a bride needs bags that she would use for the run up to the big day and after which would include smart day bags, clutches for the day and evening and jeweled, crystallised bags for the evening,” says Malini Agarwalla.
What is interesting is that Malaga has a line of bags suited for different occasions at an Indian wedding like: The sangeet, the reception, cocktail dinner and the mehendi. It is important for the bride to carry the right sized bag, which is comfortable, easy to carry, and complements her attire. For the sangeet which is celebrated on an elaborate scale and is a very grand affair with dances and other forms of entertainment, a traditional bright zardozi/gota potli bag will be apt for this occasion since it is easy to manage and matches very well with the standard attire. For the mehendi function, where the bride and her friends and family get together the traditional bright potli bag will be perfect again for this event. As for the cocktail dinner and the reception a nice Swarovski crystal clutch that is round, square or rectangular shaped would fit the theme just right, since both these events are semi formal where friends and families get together and have a sit down dinner. This again would totally depend on the theme and style of the event and the outfit that the bride chooses to wear.
