Bhairavi presented the most enchanting collection of garments including sarees, lehengas and ornate kurtas at the ongoing India Bridal Week at Sahara Star yesterday. Bhairavi is a veteran designer and has been in the market since 1987. Having returned to the ramp almost after a decade this is the first time she has showcased her collection at Fashion Week.
Drawing her inspiration from life and feelings, the collection was a perfect blend of Indian silhouettes and contemporary style. Her muse for this collection was Sonakshi Sinha. According to Bhairavi, Sonakshi exemplifies the attitude of a today’s Indian woman- young, glamorous and confident!
Her collection will appeal to women who understand the importance of personal style and to the contemporary Indian bride who would like to have fun on her wedding day and not get bogged down by the day’s pressures. While the cuts have international influences, every outfit is made keeping in mind the Indian sensibilities.
The colour palette ranged from hot pinks, orange and reds to pastels hues. Every creation was classic yet versatile with a modern touch given to even the most traditional outfit while retaining its richness of embroidery, detailing and texture.
The showstopper outfit was a heavily embellished dull gold flared lehenga with hints of purple worn by none other than the fabulous Malaika Arora Khan.
