Here is something for all you grooms-to-be! Inspired by the Great Gatsby’s Roaring ‘20’s! It was immaculate formal dressing and opulent style all the way…
What a surprise…. The show began with Suresh Bhojwani, Ashwin Deo and TC performing a live rendition of “Fly Me To The Moon”. And the music for the entire show was Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and the likes…
The collection was stunning – a contemporary take on the classic tuxedo. It celebrated the joy of dressing up, where in the world of Frank Sinatra, there was no occasion on which it was inappropriate to dress to the nines. Love that! Now if only, men today would follow that! :-)
There was a complete range of jacket styles: slim cut, singe and double breasted, broad lapel, Japanese inspired kimono lapel tux and more. These were in fabrics like silks, velvets and even brocades which added richness to the collection marrying traditional Indian with a contemporary clean line silhouette. Embroidery, quilting and applique design incorporated motifs from the Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods. The jackets were paired with slim cut ankle length trousers with turned up cuffs (which we loved!) And of course, don’t forget to accessorize! Pocket squares, slim ties and sleek black brogues just completed this look.
Fabulous show by Narendra Kumar – it was fun all the way, some of the models even busted a move here and there! We loved that the collection was all about the timelessness of the classic tuxedo, with Kabir Bedi as showstopper.
