We love emeralds! So we just had to tell you about this! The World Land Trust and ethical emerald mining company, Gemfields, have collaborated exclusively with Anmol Jewellers in Mumbai to create a unique ‘pop up’ collection of bespoke Zambian emerald jewellery. As a tribute to their endeavor of saving the endangered elephant, Anmol Jewellers has created a magnificent pendant, which is a representation of fortitude, excellence and trust, in line with the brand’s philosophy.
The emerald pendant created by Anmol has drawn inspiration from the Kalahasti festival in Kerala, which commemorates the elephant God and garlands them with jewellery. The gorgeous emerald crafted in 18k gold is symbolic of the luscious flora of God’s own country.
Here is what Ishu Datwani, founder of Anmol Jewellers had to say, “The elephants for emeralds endeavour was particularly challenging to work on since Anmol Jewellers were among the few fine jewellery brands selected by the foundation for this noble endeavour. Hence, the design that we put together wouldn’t only be aesthetically appealing but also at par with some of the best in the world. Having said that, we set foot with only positive intent and the results are very pleasing no doubt. I am proud to be a part of such a grand and honourable initiative”
A three foot Ganesh with a 630 carat emerald has been created for this project, and is on display at Anmol Jewellers flagship store from September 8th till September 10th 2011. The collection will close with a Grand Auction at the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai on October 14th 2011.
