Yesterday, Lakme Studio unveiled its bridal look book for 2011. What a great idea! We were lucky to be there right then and bring you these looks, which I know you are going to love! Thanks Malini (of Miss Malini and also one of our lovely brides) for calling me there, just in time to see this!
Makeup and hair is most often one of the most important areas for the bride in the wedding planning process. There are a whole lot of makeup and hair stylists out there, but lets face it – you want to look like a million bucks AND still look like yourself! And of course, we all know what bad makeup can make you look like – lets not even go there! Add to this, the fact that hair and makeup for the Indian bride varies quite a bit in terms of your look (which region in India). Brides from each region wear their hair differently, with specific hair accessories most often. Even the makeup would complement the color you are wearing and the overall look you are aiming for! So yes, no two Indian brides are alike and this could be quite a task!
Well, Lakme Studio has just made this a whole lot easier! The three bridal looks – Punjabi bride, Muslim bride and the Tamil bride were unveiled at The Lakme Studio amidst much excitement. These looks depicted the confident and individualistic woman who is not afraid of experimenting with her look, while remaining true to her culture and heritage. The brides were in creations by Sabyasachi and all jewelery was from Cappuccino Collections.
The Punjabi bride’s look was feminine and delicate in shades of pink. With her hair was in a layered bun, we think she looked fab!
The Muslim bride was demure yet stylish and confident in royal shades of gold and green. Her long embellished braid was fun, what do you think?
The Tamil bride’s look was earthy with shades of gold and browns and of course, gorgeous flowers in her hair to complete the look.
We can’t wait to see the look book with all eight looks from across India. Watch this space for more on this!
