The beach is the perfect destination for a small intimate wedding! Imagine the turquoise blue water as your backdrop, with stretches of silvery sand and the gentle breeze with the swaying of palm trees and your wedding mandap along the shore….doesn’t it sound like a fantasy?? Well it truly is! Beaches offer a perfect balance between a very formal to a casual ceremony. Though the surroundings are casual the décor can make it formal and mystical.
The naturally beautiful surroundings provide a perfect setting for exchanging wedding vows. There are plenty of options to choose from; you can opt for a bright colourful palette or a soft pastel theme. Your wedding mandap can be your focal décor element and then you can add some smaller props to enhance the décor further.
Some of the things you need to keep in mind while planning a beach wedding are, it can get very hot in the day so you need to make arrangements for sheltering your guests from the sun. The weather can also affect your décor. You must pick your flowers carefully such that they don’t wilt in the heat. A good option would be incorporating elements such as shells and sand in the décor. Sheer fabrics are most recommended for beach weddings. They fall well and look very romantic. A plain mandap with just sheer white fabric can look fabulous with a hint of colour added by using tropical flowers or crystals. Bright coloured fabrics also look stunning and create a wonderful contrast. We would suggest using colours such as hot pink, orange, lemon yellow if you want to go for a bright palette or just plain sheer whites, blush pinks or pastel shades if you want to keep it soft.
If you have a day wedding and an evening reception, we would suggest going for a bright and colourful mandap for the wedding and going totally soft and subtle with more of whites for the reception. This will give you the best of both worlds. Incorporating elements like sheer tents, fairy lights, paper lanterns, candles, tikki torches can create a magical environment for an evening reception by the beach!
