The First Ladies of the U.S.A (aka the President\u2019s wives) have always been looked at for their poise, personalities and yes their style; none more so than the much adored Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, wife of the late President John. F. Kennedy until 1963 (till his assassination), who then married Aristotle Onassis a Greek shipping tycoon in 1968. Jackie O as she was fondly called was known for her signature bob, oversized sunglasses and classic style, which inspired legions of fans for decades, until her death in 1994.<\/p>\n

Jackie was known for her chic and streamlined style and is still known for her timeless pink Chanel suit that she was wearing on the day her then husband John. F. Kennedy was assassinated. As was expected, her wedding style too was glamourous, romantic and utterly swoon-worthy! Her 1953 wedding dress was designed was New York dress maker Ann Lowe and is now displayed at the Kennedy Library in Boston.<\/p>\n

More traditional that her usual sleek style, the dress with its fitted bodice and large skirt, was made of approximately 50 yards of ivory silk taffeta, and is said to have been designed in a more 1950\u2019s traditional design on the urging of her mother. It had ruffles, pleats and tucking along with a floral design on the bouffant skirt. Jackie added her signature flair on her wedding day by way of stylish accessories like diamond and pearl jewelry and chic wrist length gloves. Her gorgeous long veil was her grandmother\u2019s, which she wore attached from a pretty lace cap.<\/p>\n

In fact it\u2019s a tip many Indian brides<\/a> can incorporate today as well. If your wedding attire has to be more traditional than your usual style, make it more your own by way of interesting accessories like jewelry and footwear that are more suited to your personality!<\/p>\n
