We were enamoured with Sri Lanka and we are sure your guests will be too! No wonder this beautiful place is called the Island of Serendipity.<\/p>\n

Our visit to Sri Lanka started with Colombo. Yes, it\u2019s a city \u2013 but we love exploring new cities and here is what we loved!
\n\u00a0We love our shopping and Colombo is all about pretty things from your home. Our favourite was without doubt the uber stylish Paradise Road, where we had to stop ourselves from emptying our wallets! Also while here check out the caf\u00e9 in store \u2013 a lovely place to relax and enjoy a cuppa before moving on to the next stop!<\/p>\n

Odel was another store we enjoyed. It is basically a multibrand department store with its own inhouse brands too. We loved the layout of the store with a souvenir section and even a candyland area in store! Apart from this the mini sushi restaurant, Nihonbashi and the chic Deli France that are both housed in store are perfect to unwind!<\/p>\n

\\\"ODEL,<\/a><\/p>\n

Barefoot is another popular shopping spot in Colombo. It reminded us a whole lot of our very own Fab India. Also a must visit is the caf\u00e9 and lovely courtyard at the back of the store. The food was yumm and we hear they even have live music once a week!<\/p>\n

\\\"\\\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Of course, our shopping indulgence here was the tea! We absolutely love our tea and here we were in tea heaven! The options were many, almost too confusing! We stocked up and now can\u2019t wait to enjoy all of them back home. We also enjoyed high tea at a couple of places. We love that Sri Lanka does with scones et al.<\/p>\n

Another brand we stocked up on and fell crazy in love with was Spa Ceylon. They have a whole line of fabulous products to indulge in. Our favourites were the scented candles and oils as well as the \u2018feel happy\u2019 balm. They also have spas where you can choose from a menu of relaxing body treatments. We hear the brand is planning to expand to India very soon. Yay!<\/p>\n

Between the shopping and the fabulous eating spots (must try: Ministry of Crab and Beach Wadiya) around this city, your guests attending your destination wedding <\/a>will never be bored!<\/p>\n

Our next stop was Galle, a couple of hours away from Colombo. This city is home to the Galle Fort, which is a Unesco world heritage site. We spent an afternoon in the fort area, which definitely has a charm to it. The area is lined with little cafes and boutiques. We enjoyed a cup of tea at Serendipity Arts Caf\u00e9 owned by Juliet Coombe, author of \u2018Around the Fort in 80 Lives\u2019. Juliet now lives in the Fort and leads a popular walking tour of Galle Fort.<\/p>\n

Also while in Galle, don\u2019t miss visiting the sea turtle farm and hatchery. This is a non profit organization working towards the survival of the sea turtles for the next generation. Another must visit we hear is the whale and dolphin center!<\/p>\n

A must see in Galle are the stilt fishermen. This requires an early morning start but is most definitely worth seeing! This is a dying art and makes beautiful photographs! A must see for your guests!<\/p>\n

Our last stop on this trip was Negombo. This city, just a 15 minute drive from Colombo airport is perfect to add to your itinerary! And there is a whole lot to see and do here. For the nature lovers, you have a few options – the bird sanctuary, Kitulgala Rain Forest, elephant park, boat safari or even the leopard safari. Or why not indulge in some fishing! The perfect pastime for a lot of visitors to the area we hear!<\/p>\n

You can even experience a religious tour of Negombo where you can visit the beautiful Hindu temples, Buddhist temples and churches in the area.<\/p>\n

Another must visit here is the famous Negombo fish market. This is an attraction for most visitors to the area and we here it is worth every bit of the early wake up!<\/p>\n

Our love for tea, led us to The English Hour Tea Room. The lovely Catherine McIntyre, who has left France and now made Negombo home, runs this pretty space! The place thrives on the passion of the owner, you can just feel the energy the moment you enter! We didn\u2019t know where to look \u2013 the pretty porcelain, the enticing menu, the yummy eats, the interesting bazaar\u2026 Alice in Wonderland, that\u2019s what we felt like! We settled down and enjoyed a lovely pot of Sri Lankan tea with a selection of mini bites including scones (our favourite!), mini sandwiches, cakes and macaroons! The tea room is perfect for an intimate celebration \u2013 a bridal shower or welcome tea party for the family maybe? We love it and are definitely looking forward to revisiting when back in Sri Lanka!<\/p>\n

With so many options in and around Sri Lanka, you can be rest assured that your guests visiting your destination wedding will never be bored and will enjoy every bit of Sri Lanka and it\u2019s warm hospitality.<\/p>\n
