Bharat Matrimony is one of India\u2019s biggest matrimonial marriage services owned by Consim Info. Pvt. Ltd, India\u2019s leading internet business group. The group currently owns BharatMatrimony.com, which has received the Red Herring 100 Asia 2009 award and in 2010 went on to bag the Red Herring 100 Global Award.<\/p>\n

Inspired by \u2018Matrimony Day\u2019 that is celebrated on the 14th<\/sup> of April, Bharat Matrimony came up with the idea of creating the world\u2019s largest wedding photo album. Matrimony Day is an ode to the magic of marriage. Matrimony is fundamental to gain a better and happier society. It turns the spotlight on these optimistic aspects and supports the young to look forward to marriage fairly instead of staying away or stepping into it with nervousness. It also provides a chance to showcase the numerous kinds, traditions, rituals and customs of Indian weddings that contrast by religion, region, urban and rural communities.<\/p>\n

\u00a0A miniature replica of the album was released on the 14th<\/sup> of February 2012 at Chennai. This began the preparations for putting together the actual album. To achieve this huge task, a team of 15 people was formed who spent 1600 hours to reach the Guinness World Records.<\/p>\n

On the 14th<\/sup> of April 2012 the World\u2019s Largest Photo Album was released at a unique event at Carter Road, Bandra in Mumbai. The album featured original wedding photographs contributed by Indian couples from across the globe. The gigantic album measures 5.18 meters in length and 4.26 meters in its width and weighs more than 1000 kilograms! It has 16 pages featuring the pretty wedding pictures. The pages of the photo album comprise of 4300 square feet area and are made up of fiber sheets.<\/p>\n

The challenge was confirmed and certified as a new world record by a Guinness World Record adjudicator. The Guinness Certificate of Endorsement was given to Founder and CEO of Bharat Matrimony Mr. Murugavel Janakiraman by Nikhil Shukla of Guinness World Records. This album was also created to celebrate the 15th<\/sup> anniversary of Bharat Matrimony.<\/p>\n

The main thought behind this creation was to draw some attention to the integrity of the institution of marriage and wedding traditions<\/a>. About a year ago the company invited married couples from all over the world to share their wedding pictures on a site named millionweddingpics.com. From the pictures uploaded by the users, 256 were selected to be a part of this huge wedding album. By completing this memorable feat the company hopes to motivate people to get married.<\/p>\n

The previous record for the largest album was a creation by Johnson\u2019s Baby China and was showcased back in 2008, in Beijing. It measured 5 meters in length and 4meters in breadth.<\/p>\n
