It’s one of the most fun rituals, which involves dancing and rejoicing. The guests groove to the music and enjoy the procession.

The most common entertainment options at Indian Baraats are dhol players and the brass band. These are fun and set the mood, but here are some tips on the other options to entertain your guests at the Baraat.

Including a few bhangra dancers dressed in colourful traditional outfits can help spice up the mood. These dancers engage the guests and family members and also do some fun acrobatic moves like climbing on top of one another, which is a fun sight. You can include other folk dances such as kachhi ghodi dance or even dandiya. These are not so common in the Baraat, and are good entertainment options. The kacchi ghodi dance is a Rajasthani folk dance performed by men using dummy horses and dressed in elaborate costumes. These dancers move rhythmically to the beating of drums and fifes. Including a few dandiya dancers would cheer up the spirit. They dance to the beat of the dhol using wooden sticks. This is a hit especially among Gujarati weddings.

You could also have stilt walkers who can pose with guests for photos. A tutari player can be a part of the procession too. As the baraat approaches the venue, the tutari player can lead the baraat and play his instrument announcing the arrival of the groom.

And don’t forget – one of the most important things would be fireworks! If you have a night wedding, it is a must! For a day wedding you could use colourful poppers instead of fireworks!
