Neeta Lulla\\’s show at LFW was opened by a mesmerizing classical dance performance which was a prelude to what was in store and set the mood for the rest of the show. Drawing her inspiration from Andhra Pradesh\u2019s famous painting form\u00a0\u2019Hastkala Kalamkari\u2019 which was seen around the temples of the region for several centuries, she created a range of magical outfits. Neeta Lulla\\’s collection comprised of a m\u00e9lange of contemporary styles and silhouettes fused with the extinct art form which she revived through her creation. <\/p>\n

The outfits were very regal with rich fabrics and intricate designs flowered around deities, scrolls, temple hangings, chariots and depicted scenes from some of the great Hindu epics. It was a visual treat to the eyes and a unique blend of art and style. The collection was in stunning tones of deep red, Persian green, rust and gold, which gave the ensemble a heritage touch. Lehengas, fish tail skirts, sarees, corset, jackets, cholis,\u00a0short kurtis, Anarkalis\u00a0crafted in fabrics such as light silk, georgettes, silk chiffons, French lace and nets with embellishments, ethnic craftwork and cutwork of velvet kundan and metal work.\u00a0Lavish use of velvet cut work could be seen on most outfits along with traditional prints of Hastkala Kalamkari.<\/p>\n

Prachi Desai opened the show in a floor length Anarkali followed by other models who dazzled the ramp in magnificent net sarees worn over brocade or printed petticoats with elaborate embroidery and regal floor skimming kurtas in various cuts and wide pleated salwars and heavily encrusted bridal lehengas.<\/p>\n
