Cricket mania has certainly gripped the entire nation, what with the ongoing World Cup Cricket. But that\u2019s not on every fashionista\u2019s mind right now. A major event for the fashion world, the Lakme Fashion Week Summer\/Resort 2011 kicked off on Friday at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, and this is where we found our focal point!<\/p>\n

Showcasing the latest collections by established to emerging designers, right up to accessory designers is what Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) is all about. And just like every major fashion show in every fashion community of the world, it\u2019s also about who\u2019s wearing what, who\u2019s spotted on the front row and sometimes who\u2019s with whom!<\/p>\n

Well, we loved a few looks from the first day itself.\u00a0 We\u2019ll go into depth about each of the designers that caught our fancy. So read on and get the scoop if you have been out of the Indian fashion loop!<\/p>\n

Sabyasachi Mukherjee<\/strong><\/p>\n

With over 10 years experience in the fashion industry, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has come a long way, always showcasing collections that emphasise strong looks, with a touch of bohemian chic. He is known to draw inspiration from things and events around him. His collection this year is dedicated to the \u201cSave Our Tigers\u201d cause, and his interpretation of the endangered Sunderban forest cover was bang on target. Off beat, earthy, chic are some of the words we can come up with to describe Sabyasachi\u2019s latest line. We love the boho chic look using traditional Indian fabrics.

Asymmetric sleeves, bright acid hues on his tops, maxi khadi skirts and charming vintage gowns took centre stage at this show. Black, yellow and ivory dominated the designer\u2019s show. He is known for his earthy sensibilities. Models with strong red lips, high buns and cat-eye glasses added an offbeat look to his show.<\/p>\n

We loved Sabbah Sharma\u2019s latest collection. Bright, happy colors dominated her show. We love the fact that her collection is totally wearable! The white and gold palatte that she used for some of the clothes didn\u2019t quite win our approval. But, we really loved the strong colour blocked prints. Geometrics, bright candy hues and chiffon stained glass\u2019esque \u2018 dresses and tunics was what really caught our eye.<\/p>\n

Masaba<\/strong><\/p>\n

\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"\\\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

We absolutely loved Masaba\u2019s collection, closely inspired by the African Masai tribes. Her collection comprised a gorgeous mix of hues like orange, aqua, hot pink, cream and purple with a hint of bronze. We loved the way she used the eye-catching \u2018ikat\u2019 print and super-large polka dots. The foot motif is arrestingly cute when backed by fantastic colours like fluorescent orange.<\/p>\n
